The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) is an organization under the South Korean Ministry of Education. NIIED is seeking a responsible and competent native English speaker to fill the role of Coordinator for the Teach and Learn in Korea (TaLK) Team in Seoul.

1. Duties
The TaLK Native English Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Interviewing prospective TaLK applicants from various English-speaking countries;
- Promoting the TaLK Program online and in-person;
- Organizing and assisting with numerous parts of the TaLK scholar selection process;
- Providing support to current TaLK scholars such as offering information, advice and counseling;
- Organizing various events and training
- Giving lectures during the TaLK orientation and other training sessions
- Responding to inquires via e-mails, phone calls and in-person visits;
- Editing and creating documents for various purposes; and
- Performing other responsibilities assigned by TaLK and NIIED.

2. Employment Period
- Duration: mid-March ~ mid-September (6 Months)
- Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday to Friday

3. Salary
- Monthly Salary: KRW 2,000,000 ~ 2,300,000
* Salary will be decided according to the internal salary table based on qualifications and proven certifications


4. Benefits
- Monthly Housing Allowance: KRW 550,000
* Deposit shall be borne by the coordinator
- Coordinator Allowance : KRW 300,000 per month
- Partly subsidized National Health Insurance, National Pension premiums
- Paid vacation, Exit Allowance

5. Qualifications:
A qualified applicant must:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Have more than 1-year TaLK, EPIK, or other relevant teaching experience within public schools in Korea
- Have strong organizational skills and be able to simultaneously manage numerous tasks for diverse projects on an on-going basis
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Be able to translate, proofread and edit official documents
- Have a strong sense of professionalism
- Be efficient with carrying out various administrative tasks
- Be earnest, responsible and willing to cooperate with diverse staff and teachers
- Have strong interpersonal skills
- Be flexible with varying pace of work
- Have high proficiency in oral and written skills in the Korean language (Preferred, not required)


6. Required Documents
- Completed application form (downloadable from the TaLK Web site under “What’s New”), which includes Personal Essay, Self Medical Assessment and Consent for Verification
- Recommendation letter from the former place of employment including Korean public schools
(can be submitted electronically by email)
- Proof of degree or certifications is required after being shortlisted
*Degree: verification letter from the academic institute or transcript
*Certification: copy of related certification such as TESOL, TEFL, etc

7. Application Submission
- Deadline: by 6:00 PM on 2nd March, 2016
- E-mail: talkkorea@korea.kr with the Subject line “Coordinator Application-Applicant Name”

8. Application Result
- Applicants will be notified of the results by no later than March 15 (Tue).
- Tentative staring date is mid-March, 2016.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
