CPIK : Chinese Program in Korea

Purpose

To carry out "Korea·China Teacher Exchange" agreement, during the Korean and Chinese Ministerial Meeting (2011.11.24),
by inviting outstanding Chinese teachers who have 'Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Certificate' through the Chinese
government, in order to strengthen Chinese language education in Korean public schools and foster competitiveness in the
era of globalization.

Number of invited teachers

2012년 200 teachers → 2013년 300 teachers → 2014년 400 teachers → 2015년 500 teachers

Contents of Support

  • CPIK Orientation(1 week)
  • In-service training for school administrators and co-teachers
  • Farewell Event
  • Support and establishment of CPIK teachers' network

Recruitment Procedures

Applicants are recommended by the Chinese government (Hanban/ Confucious Institute Headquaters)
and documents are screened by NIIED.

Korean Program in China

Purpose

Based on "Korea·China Teacher Exchange" agreement, during the Korean and Chinese Ministerial Meeting (2011.11.24),
NIIED is sending current and pre-teachers to Chinese universities in order to strengthen teachers' global competence to
communicate with and understand people from foreign cultures, provide overseas opportunities for pre-teachers,
and to spread the Korean wave through teaching Korean language and culture in China.

Number of exchange teachers

2012년 43 teachers → 100 teachers, est

Recruitment Procedures

  • Current teachers : Selection and recommendation through the Office of Education.

Contents of Support

  • Support exchange teachers' contract signing and visa processing.
  • Pre-departure training (10 days, 80 hours).
  • Support and establishment of exchange teachers' network.
